Roy Cochrane
Roy spent the first 17 years of his working life at Midland Bank plc (now part of HSBC), rising through the ranks from clerk/cashier through a series of team leader roles in customer services and credit control in the payments cards services division to marketing and brand manager for the Midland Bank “family” of cards. He was then total quality manager at Mercury Communications Ltd. (a Cable & Wireless subsidiary), during which time he managed the programme to gain ISO9000 certification for the IT and Networks divisions. Roy next went to Riga on secondment from Cable & Wireless as simultaneously Change Director and IT Director in Lattelekom SIA, the then newly-created (and partially privatised) monopoly communications provider in Latvia shortly after the break-up of the Soviet Union.
Subsequent tours of duty in a number of European countries have seen him in a variety of Project Director, Strategy and Business Development Director, and Managing Consultant roles in IBM, American Management Systems and Amdocs, with particular focus on IT services in the telecommunications, financial services, automotive and petroleum industries.
He lives in Surrey with his wife and young son, but loves to travel and explore unfamiliar places. In his spare time he enjoys the outdoors and classical music (as both listener and singer).
